It was 2007 when I decided to ditch my job in engineering to follow my passion for all things food … and fun! After 12 years as a process engineer and management consultant, I walked away from my successful career to pursue a field I’d always, always dreamed of: the culinary arts. And, I’m pleased to report that it’s one of the best decisions I ever made.
I graduated from culinary school 4 years ago and what a wild adventure it’s been since.
I’ve done everything from working as a personal chef, to teaching cooking classes, to working at cooking magazines and Food Network, to giving culinary walking tours in NYC, to developing recipes and writing for Weight Watchers, Bed Bath & Beyond, Fit Pregnancy, and others, to filming videos and helping launch new food brands … and I’ve never been happier!
When I look back, I realize all I’ve experienced these past few years: changing my career, the different kinds of work I’ve done for clients, the lifestyle I’ve been living as a result and how I’m sharing it all with my 2 little girls, has all been leading me here:
Where Happy Meets Healthy
Where Happy Meets Healthy is that sweet spot between staying fit and having fun, and it’s the philosophy I use in my cooking and my life. It’s the baby bear bed of lifestyle choices: not too strict, not too decadent … it’s just right.
It’s all about having a great time with cooking, entertaining and enjoying life, all while keeping things super easy & sneakily healthy … most of the time anyway!
I seriously love what I do and have found that one of my very favorite things is sharing what I’ve learned about food, health, cooking and entertaining with others. So, in a labor of love, I’m bringing together the 100’s and 100’s of recipes I’ve developed, as well as all my tips and techniques for cooking and entertaining, eating and drinking, all in one place.
I’m so excited I can now simply point you to my site when you’re looking for recipe inspiration to spice up your usual routine, sneaky chef tricks to up your kitchen game, advice on healthy cooking techniques, or easy ideas to make your party one they’ll never forget!
We’ve got some great stuff online already, and a lot more coming. Check back frequently as we’ll be adding recipes and articles every week, as well as photos of recipes, categories like paleo, vegan, gluten-free, and more!
