Grilled Swiss Sandwiches with Tomato & Dijon on Rye

A spicy Dijon mayo adds an amazing flair to the traditional grilled cheese. Try this delicious sandwich paired with a bowl of soup for a filling meal anytime.

  • ¼ cup mayonnaise
  • 4 tsp Dijon mustard
  • 8 sliced rye bread 
  • 8 slices sliced Swiss cheese 
  • 4 slices beefsteak tomato
  • Cooking spray


Combine mayonnaise and mustard in a small bowl.  Arrange bread on a flat surface.  Spread Dijon mayonnaise across all slices.  Top each with one slice cheese.  Top four with one slice tomato and sandwich with remaining bread.  Coat a large nonstick skillet or griddle with cooking spray over medium heat.  Grill sandwiches, pressing lightly, for 3-5 minutes or until lightly toasted and cheese has melted.  Slice in half and serve immediately.
