Cherry Tomato Skewers with Balsamic & Basil

Grilled cherry tomatoes take on a delicious charred flavor. Add in the balsamic and basil and you've got a wonderful side dish for barbecues. Any leftovers would be amazing with fresh mozzarella or feta, or tossed on top of a salad.

Cook: 8 minutes
Yield: 6 Servings


  • 24 red cherry tomatoes
  • 24 yellow cherry tomatoes
  • 1 TB extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 tsp kosher salt
  • 6 large skewers
  • ½ tsp balsamic vinegar
  • 1 TB minced fresh basil


Toss tomatoes with olive oil and salt. Thread 8 tomatoes on each skewer (alternating red and yellow). Heat a grill pan or outdoor grill over high heat.  Cook skewers for 6-7 minutes total, rotating several times for even charring.  Drizzle with balsamic and top with basil before serving.
